Reliamold handle
The handle is used to apply ReliaMolds attachments, these are purchased separately.
ReliaMolds attachments are translucent and flexible to facilitate easy loading, curing and release of the composite. A mold is filled with a light-curing composite (recommended GoTo, T.K.O. or Flowtain from Reliance Orthodontics), then it is applied to the tooth and light-cured.
Molds are of different types depending on the purpose:
Habit Control – for bad habits like thumbing and pushing front teeth with the tongue. Molded extensions contact the tongue or thumb as a gentle introoral reminder.
Cuspid Ramp – deflects direct opposing enamel contact to open the bite and/or functionally influence the crossbite.
Button – forms a low profile and smooth attachment. Classic and efficient design. Facilitates clamping with elastomers or ligatures.
Molar Tube – mimics a low profile .020 tube. Effective for many applications including guiding erupting or leveling molars.
Molar Pad – creates a precise rounded build-up attached to the molar cusp occlusion. The opposite arch contacts the posterior. T.K.O composite is recommended. or Ultra Band Lok cement.
Bite Ramp – forms a "mini-ramp" normally applied to the upper central lingual surfaces. Sometimes called turbo. The lower fronts contact the ramps and create intrusive forces. The cusps fail to occlude completely and extrusion occurs, resulting in the opening of the bite. Two sizes available, 3mm or 5mm.
Wire Bonder – Bonds the bow consistently with a smooth finish and low profile. A piece of spherical resin is formed over the arc. The usual application is for retention as a fixed bond, but it is also effective for minor rotations and levelling. Two sizes available: 3mm or 4.5mm.
